Fiber for Sale
Listed below are raw alpaca
fleeces available for purchase. We usually have 50- 80 fleeces
for sale and not all are listed here so please inquire if you have a
special order.
All fleeces are judged by
Eric Hoffman, a certified alpaca fleece judge, and Sandra Revilla, a young
Peruvian exchange student from Arequipa, Peru. Sandra has extensive experience
with alpaca fiber having written a thesis on marketing alpaca fiber
products under the direction of executives of Mitchell CIA, one of the
largest alpaca fiber processing mills in the world.
All fleeces are judged tactilely
in order to categorize into three grades:

Each fleece is weighed
using a Technidyne scale accurate to 1/10 of a pound. Color identification
is judged according to the ARI Color Chart (below left).
All fleeces are from
huacaya alpacas unless noted as suri.
